This project began from a repeated route rather than a dramatic destination.
Inside the train, the camera has little distance. Light is interrupted by bodies, windows, hands, bags, screens, and passing stations. That compression is part of the subject. The photographs are not trying to make commuting heroic. They try to notice the human detail that survives inside a route people repeat without thinking.
